iBible is an ongoing adaptation of the bible. It was based on a graphic novel turned motion graphic storytelling project before it migrated to 3d.
I was involved in iBible from 2019 to 2021 during a restructuring process that consisted of raising the level of illustration and standardizing the visual language. At the same time I was also in charge of storyboards and concept art for characters and locations.
Art direction was made on existing chapters that needed a retouch after an upgraded style was defined on my arrival and was requested by production management. Then setting the style for the rest.
The project was focused on a migration to a new format as well as the visual enhancement of the style without changing the comic style bases it was carrying.
Some of the new guidelines were:
-Fit on a horizontal full mobile phone format.
-Work as video as well as an animated/interactive pdf that had a gutter division when each page was being played and then as a transition to the next page.
-Stay as a comic style, but more consistent in composition, color, lightning and lineart style.
-Show a better sense of epic scale through its compositions, camera movements, layout and storytelling.
